KJV JOHN 1:29
THE LAMB OF GOD THAT TAKES AWAY THE SIN OF THE WORLD

LAMB OF GOD
Painting by the Spanish Baroque artist Francisco de Zurbarán
"The Lamb of God"

Every Human Being on Earth today needs to take a long look at this picture and what it signifies, If your reaction to this painting is one of sadness, then it has achieved its intended purpose. For those of us who have read the Hebrew Scriptures, Abraham, a friend of Alahym (God), had a son named Isaac. One day Alahym said to Abraham "go to the land of Moriah and offer your son, your only son, as a burnt offering, Genesis 22:1-14.

Alahym (God) was testing Abrahams faith but was also giving him a prophetic picture of what Alahym would do in the future when, as the Lamb of God, would take upon himself the sin of the world. The events given to us in Genesis follow a similar pattern also found in the Gospels.

The Gospels came to us written in the Greek language but by careful analysis we can compare them with the Hebrew language to reveal what is there. It is more than likely that they were written first in Hebrew because the Apostles were Jews. The parallels in scripture can be seen below:

  • Abraham was told to offer "HIS ONLY SON" Isaac WHOM HE LOVED and they journeyed together, Father and Son.
  • The journey to Mount Moriah took three days and they arrived at the mountain on the "THIRD DAY"
  • Isaac "CARRIED THE WOOD" on which he would be sacrificed
  • Abraham told Isaac that Alahym (God) would provide Himself "THE LAMB"
  • Abraham was stopped from killing his son and turning round, saw a young Ram with its head and horns trapped in a "THORN BUSH"
The Lamb was provided by Alahym (GOD) to be used instead of Isaac. Abraham, in a figurative way, received his son Isaac back from the dead. The "LAMB OF GOD" was the REDEMPTION PRICE PROVIDED BY ALAHYM (God) to redeem Isaac from death, the Lamb was taken up or returned to Alahym (God) as a burnt offering.

We are shown in the Gospels at John 1:29-34 that John the Baptist declared:
  • "Behold the LAMB OF GOD, who takes away the sin of the world".
  • The Mashyach (Messiah) was GOD'S ONLY SON WHOM HE LOVED.
  • He CARRIED HIS OWN CROSS (made of wood),
  • He had a CROWN OF THORNS placed on His head and was Crucified,
  • He was resurrected from the dead on the THIRD DAY and was Taken Up or returned to God.

ALAHYM (GOD) IS THE GREAT SHEPHERD OF THE SHEEP

NLT, Philippians 2:5-11

We are all in need of guidance in this world, so Alahym (God) sent his son to show us the way. He is the 'Door' leading to the 'Sheepfold of Life". The 'Good Shepherd' who gave his life for the sheep. 5, You must have the same attitude that Mashyach Yahushah (Christ Jesus) had.
6, Though he was God (The Son), he did not think of equality with God (The Father) as something to cling to. 7, Instead, he gave up his divine privileges; he took the humble position of a slave and was born as a human being. When he appeared in human form, 8, he humbled himself in obedience to God and died a criminal's death on a cross. 9, Therefore, God elevated him to the place of highest honour and gave him the name above all other names, 10, that at the name of Yahushah (Jesus) every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11, and every tongue confess that Yahushah Mashyach (Jesus Christ) is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

The Father and The Son (The Word) were together in the Beginning before the Earth came into being, John 1:1-4

The Hebrew Script at the top of the page, known as "BIBLICAL HEBREW" is written from Right to Left, when its translated to English it means "YAHUAH ALAHYM" or in your Bible, it reads, "Lord God". Lord is written instead or God's Name "YAHUAH".

Each letter of the Hebrew AlaphBayt (Alphabet) has a name and meaning as written below:
(the meanings could change as our understanding of Hebrew becomes clearer)

HEBREW

Transliterated, Left to Right becomes:

YA     H     UA     H
Yad   Hay   Uau   Hay

NAME

A       L A       H       Y       M
Alaph     Lamad     Hay     Yad   Maym

NAME

The Creator of the Heavens and the Earth Has a more Glorious Name now because of the sacrifice He made for the world. His name in Hebrew, read from right to left is:

NAME

Transliterated, Left to Right becomes:
YA     H     U     SHA     H
Yad   Hay   Uau   Shan   Hay
MEANING: YAHUAH'S LAMB

ISAIAH 53:7 ...He was led like a Lamb to the slaughter...
REVELATION 5:11-13 ...Worthy is the Lamb who was slaughtered...

IT IS OF THE UTMOST IMPORTANCE TO KNOW HIS HEBREW NAME

KJV ACTS 4:12 ...for there is none other name under Heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

Why! You might ask, does it really matter? After all, the name Jesus is a translation we have always known. Well! We should let the Mashyach (Messiah) of the tribe of Yahudah (Judah) instruct us on this. NIV. John 17:3,11 "Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the Only True God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent". V11, ..."Holy Father, protect them by the power of your name, THE NAME YOU GAVE ME", (emphasis mine)

The Mashyach (Messiah) is telling us that we should know the name of the Only True God, "YAHUAH" the Father and that also that name was given to Him but containing the word "SHAH" meaning "LAMB".

The Hebrew verb ישע "yasha(e)" means "to save".

NOT JOSHUA - NOT JESUS

Hoshea, הושע Husha(e) meaning "Salvation", (Son of Nun), was changed by Moses to יהושע Yahusha(e) meaning "Yahuah's salvation". The Mashyach's (Messiah's) name had been deliberately blotted out because of its relationship to God, translators built the name from יהושוע Yahushua(e) Joshua (not correct). The name was abreviated to ישוע y'shua(e) "he is salvation". When translated to Greek gives Ἰησοῦς Iesous, that became the name "Jesus" found in the Bible.
The Mashyach's name was not Joshua, meaning "Yahuah's salvation", but יהושה Yahushah meaning "Yahuah's Lamb", "He will redeem (save) His people from their sins" ESV, Matthew 1:21.

REDEMPTION THROUGH HIS BLOOD

In view of the many scriptures pointing to "Redemption" as the means of bringing Man back to God and that the "Lamb of God" (the Son of God, born into the world through the virgin Mary) was provided by God for that very same purpose, it is reasonable to conclude that the Messiah's name in Hebrew would reflect that purpose. The name Joshua reflects God's purpose in choosing him as the means to bring Salvation to Israel at that time. It does not however reflect God's purpose of Redeeming believers by means of a "New Covenant" agreement that required a "Sacrifice" and the pouring out of Blood, a "Freewill Offering" to God.

Some examples from Scripture:
ESV JOB 19:25 For I know that my REDEEMER lives, and at the last he will stand upon the earth.
KJV 1PETER 1:18-19 ...REDEEMED...19, with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.
KJV HEBREWS 9:11-12 ...12, Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal REDEMPTION for us.
KJV REVELATION 5:9...thou wast slain, and hast REDEEMED us to God by thy blood.

WE SING PRAISES TO HIS NAME

NAME
HA-LA-L-U-YA-H

We have been taught by the Messiah to pray. The prayer is known today as the Lords Prayer, where we address Alahym (Elohim) as Our Father:
KJV
OUR FATHER WHO ART IN HEAVEN, HALLOWED BE THY NAME

If we don't know His Name, how can we pray to Him? If we don't know the Sons Name, how can we give thanks in His Name

NAME

YAHUSHAH THE MASHYACH - THE DOOR TO ETERNAL LIFE

John 10:7,9 ...I am the door of the sheep...v9, I am the door. whoever enters through me shall be saved,...

YAHUSHAH (JESUS) WAS A YAHUDY (JEW) OF THE TRIBE OF YAHUDAH (JUDAH ) HIS NAME WOULD THEREFORE BE WRITTEN IN HEBREW

If we look at The Fathers name and the name of The Son, we see that both names contain the word YAHU. Both therefore have the same name. The second part of the Son's name is the Hebrew שה "SHAH" meaning: Lamb. ISAIAH 53:7 REVELATION 12:11

All this makes sense when we read the Gospel of John 5:43 "I have come in My Fathers Name" ... 17:11 "Holy Father, protect them by the power of Your Name, the Name you gave Me"...

What Yahushah Messiah is saying is that, the power of The Fathers Name "YAHUAH" was given to Him in His name. This shows that both the Father and the Son bear the same name.

  • ALAHYM (ELOHIM) = PLURAL

  • THE FATHER - YAHUAH ALAHYM

  • THE SON - YAHUSHAH ALAHYM

  • THE ANOINTED - MASHYACH

  • THE TRIBE OF JUDAH - YAHUDAH
The Nations of the World have blasphemed the name of God by persecuting the Jew, why? Because God Placed His Name on them, they are "YAHUDY" יהודי, they bear his name, they are His Special Possession. We, as believers in the Mashyach (Messiah), are grafted into the Olive Tree of Israel through Faith in the Son. Though still in unbelief, Israel will soon be brought back into the light of truth.
